Mavs Lose Second Straight Since Break

The Mavericks lost their second straight game since the all-star break this past weekend. The team ended up losing 96-85 on Wednesday against the Memphis Grizzlies. The Mavericks failed to get any good production from the field and scored under 20 points in 3 of the games four quarters. The Mavericks must get back on track as they are taking a turn for the worst recently. Their record now stands at 21-15 on the year while their road record evens up to 8-8 this season.

The Mavericks did get some good production from players on the team. Veteran Jason Terry led the team in both points and assist as he scored 18 and added 5 assists. Fellow Vet Shawn Marion also added 8 rebounds to lead the team. The Mavericks, however, were unable to get much going on offense. They did do a great job on both sides of the ball in the second quarter, as they had 32 points in that period while giving up just 22. However, in the rest of the game, they were outscored 74-53.

Gasol, who led the team in both points and rebounds, led the Grizzlies on the day. Gasol ended the day with 22 points and 11 rebounds to record a double-double. Conley also added 10 assists to lead the team. The Grizzlies scored more than 20 in each quarter including 27 in the third quarter. The team improves their record to 20-15 on the year. They also improved their home record to 14-5 this season.
