Mavericks Rough Start After Break

Mavericks Rough Start After Break

The Mavericks lost 93-92 on Tuesday against the Nets in Dallas. Dallas has done well at home this season and has been moving them into position to get their way into the playoffs. The team has continued to make progress, but has gotten off on the wrong foot since the all-star break just ended. The team is now 21-14 overall on the year while they carry a 13-7 home record.

The team did well, but simply fell short. Dallas was led by Dirk Nowitzki, who scored 24 points in the contest. Jason Kidd led the team in assists with 8 on the day. The team tried desperately to get back into the game after falling behind 56-45 in the first half of the game. In the second half, they were able to outscore the Nets 47-37. This was good, but proved not to be enough against the sub-par Net’s team.

The Nets moved their record to 11-25 with the win and improved their road record to 8-12 on the season. The team now stands still at the bottom of the division, but showed that they are not giving up this season. Lopez, who lead all scorers in the game with 38 points, led the Nets. Humphries led the team in rebounds with 15 while Williams added 12 assists to lead all. The Nets started the game out by scoring 28 points in both the first and second quarter to take a good lead going into the half. Although they did not close out the game well, they still had enough to get the win on the road in Dallas.
