Mavericks Losing Streak Continues

Mavericks Losing Streak Continues

The Mavericks lost once again on Friday against the Hornets 97-92. The Mavericks have now lost 3 straight since the all-star break. The Mavericks are now 21-16 on the season and fall to 8-9 on the season in games played on the road. They have fallen further out of the race for the division between themselves, the Spurs, and the Rockets. The team must get back on track and remember that they are no longer on vacation. Perhaps getting back to Dallas will help the team.

The Mavericks did get some production primarily from Beaubois who scored 25 on the day. Nowitzki also added 9 rebounds to lead the team while Jason Kidd led the team with 6 assists. The team ultimately lost the game in the first quarter after being outscored 25-19. During the rest of the game, they actually outscored the Hornets by one point. The slow start really cost the team as their losing streak continues.

The Hornets were led by Kaman who scored 20 points in the game and also led the team in rebounds with 13 total boards. Vasquez added 7 assists, which led the team. The Hornets scored 20 plus points in each quarter including 27 in the second quarter. The team is now 9-27 on the season. They improved their poor record a game while bringing their home record to a miserable 4-15 on the year.

The Mavericks really showed that they, perhaps, are not ready to get into the playoffs just yet. They must get out of this post all-star break funk… and fast.
