The Mavericks won 102-96 on Saturday in Dallas against the Utah Jazz. The Mavericks got a huge lift from Dirk Nowitzki who exploded offensively. The team improved to 22-16 on the season and improved their home record to 14-7 on the season. After a poor start, the team has been playing as well as anyone as of late and will look to try and repeat as champs as they move into the second half of the season.
The Mavericks were great from the field and outscored the Jazz in each quarter but the fourth. They went into the half up by 7 and then exploded in the 3rd by outscoring the Jazz 31-19. Dirk led the team with a monster game, as he scored 40 points in the contest. Jason Kidd led the team in assist with 8 while Mahinmi led the Mavs in rebounds with 8.
Sunday. The team must continue this amazing run they are on, as they will have a target on them more and more with every win they get.
The Jazz shot very poor throughout the game until a late run that nearly got them a new ball game. The team scored 20 or less in the first three quarters and were down 74-55 going into the fourth quarter. They then exploded for 41 points in the fourth, but simply did not have enough time to get things tied up or take a lead. Paul Milsap who scored 24 points led the team. Al Jefferson also collected 10 rebounds for the team.
