Dallas Dominates in Denver

The Mavericks were able to win convincingly in Denver against a rowdy Nuggets fan base. The fans came out in their Peyton Manning gear as the quarterback seems set to sign with the team. In the end, they were unable to cheer loud enough for the Nuggets, however, who fell 112-95 to the visiting Mavericks. The Mavericks are now 27-20 on the year and are 9-13 in games played away from Dallas this season. This is an away record they have recently been improving upon in recent months.

The Mavericks are really trying to make a push for the playoffs and beat a very good Nuggets team on their floor to show just how serious they are. They also did so convincingly, as they scored 30 plus points in 2 quarters and 29 in another before putting things on cruise control in the fourth quarter. The Nuggets were able to stay close in the first half as just 7 points separated the two teams going into halftime. After the break, the Mavericks tacked on another 7 points difference, though, and cruised to the finish line.

The Nuggets are now 25-21 with the loss and are 14-12 at home this season. The team tried to stay close, but simply ran out of steam down the stretch. Afflalo, who scored 24 in the game, led the Nuggets. Harrington grabbed 9 rebounds to lead the team, as well, and Gallinari led the team in assist with 7. The Nuggets failed to reach 25 points in either quarter of the second half, which contributed mightily to their downfall.
