Dallas won a close one at home against the Buccaneers last week in Dallas. The team was unable to get much accomplished offensively, scoring only 16 points, but was able to pull out a win. The final was 16-10 and ended in a memorable and controversial way as the Buccaneers coach had his guys play hard until the final whistle once again in week 3.
In week two Tampa Bay played the Giants and decided on a routine kneel down by the Giants they would bull rush New York in an attempt to get the ball and try to win. In the process, Eli Manning fell down and it caused uproar as Giant coach Tom Coughlin had words with Tampa coach Greg Schiano after the game. Coughlin was not happy at all as he called it something you do not do in this league (the NFL) Schiano defended the move as someone who teaches his players to play until the clock has all zeros.
He would stick to his guns one week later against the Cowboys, and Dallas Coach Jason Garret seemed to not mind as he casually spoke with Schiano after the game. His players were ready for Tampa to come hard and came back just as strong. Tony Romo calmly kneeled down two times in a row despite plenty of pressure from the defense. Unlike the Giants, Dallas seemed to understand Tampa’s position and did not make much of it. It probably made it easier as in the end Dallas came away with a 16-10 victory.
