Cuban admitted the situation in Los Angeles with the dodgers is a mess. Currently, Major League Baseball has stepped in and they are monitoring all financial issues for the team. If things do not end up looking good they could take over all together and sell the team. Given all this, Cuban still did not rule out giving it a shot. He actually said that if he got the right deal he had interest in Major League Baseball. Cuban’s name has come up in the past when teams are going to be put up for sale, which seems to be the direction the Dodgers are going. It is hard to believe things could go so badly in such a good baseball city.
The media outlet is certainly right for Cuban in LA as it fits his outlandish personality. The dodgers are right in the heart of Hollywood and have a good celebrity following. Cuban would be thrown into the spotlight immediately if he was to take over the team. Fans love to watch him in his court side seats for Maverick’s games. He is animated when trying to get the crowd into the game in between arguing with officials. Several times his passion has drawn big fines his way from commissioner stern when his over-the-top antics are directed at officials or the NBA. With all the passion he has, one could you imagine Cuban’s seats at Dodger stadium. He would certainly be in earshot of umpires sitting behind the Dodger’s dugout perhaps. It would not take long from there to end up being the first owner to ever get tossed out of a game by an umpire. Just the thought of such a feat is music to the ears of LA reporters and would certainly make for good Television in the large media network.
The only question that remains then is will the price be right for Cuban, and is the situation in Los Angeles fixable? Only time can tell as it is in Major League Baseball’s hands now. They will supervise Los Angeles and will have to make a decision on whether or not the club will be able to turn things around. One thing that is certain is that it is only a matter of time before Cuban will be an owner of a MLB franchise. If things can not be worked out in Los Angeles this may be the time Cuban will sign on the dotted line. Given his personality, you may be seeing him get tossed from a baseball game in a city near you soon.
