The Mavericks beat the Nuggets 105-95 on Wednesday in Denver. The win was highlighted by Nowitski looking much better coming off a recent injury. The team improved their record to 15-11 on the year and evened their away record to 6-6. The Nuggets loss makes them 15-11 as well while they carry a 7-6 home victory. Both teams are trying to make some headway in their division while they hang on to try and take over first place. Both also have a lot of work to do to make this happen.
The Mavericks Dirk Nowitski scored 25 points in the game to lead all scorers and added 9 tough rebounds. Vince Carter led the team in assists with 8. The team scored a whopping 69 in the first half while they only managed 41 in the second half. The team is now just 2.5 games back of the spurs, byt stand in 3rd place in the division. The Mavericks are starting to gel much better following a slow start to their championship defending season.
The Nuggets scoring leading was Al Harrington who scored 17 points. Nene and Lawson also added 16 points each. Hilario led the team in rebounds with ten. Lawson also added 10 assists to lead the team. The team scored 25 plus points in each quarter except the fourth. Their, the Nuggets tried coming back while the Mavs scored only 17. The Nuggets were 5.5 back of Oklahoma following the game and are in second place. The Nuggets were then going to be hosting the Warriors at home on Thursday
